Two Continents, one final statement: Pinarello Q36.5 closes the 2026 season on the front foot.
Tom Pidcock takes second on the final stage and overall at the Gree–Tour of Guangxi, while Quinten Hermans finishes seventh at the Veneto Classic after another attacking team performance.
The Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team brought its 2026 racing season to a close on Sunday with two strong performances on opposite sides of the world, demonstrating the collective commitment and attacking approach that have defined an important year for the Swiss-registered squad.
In China, Tom Pidcock secured second place on the sixth and final stage of the Gree–Tour of Guangxi, also finishing runner-up in the final general classification.
Meanwhile, in Italy, Quinten Hermans claimed seventh place at the Veneto Classic, following an aggressive race alongside teammate Marcel Camprubí.
PIDCOCK SECOND IN GUANGXI AFTER A COMPLETE TEAM PERFORMANCE
The final 165.8 km stage from Yizhou to Nongla Scenic Spot provided the decisive showdown for the general classification of the UCI WorldTour race.
Pinarello Q36.5 took responsibility throughout the day, with Matteo Moschetti working to control the early breakaway before Joey Pidcock and Milan Vader increased the tempo on the final climb.
Pidcock responded with a strong acceleration on the uphill finish, eventually taking second place behind Jarno Widar, who also secured the overall victory. The British rider's performance earned him second place in the final general classification, completing a demanding week of racing in China.
Tom Pidcock said:
"The team committed fully for me today. Matteo did an amazing job all day controlling the breakaway. On the final climb, Joey and Milan helped keep the pace high. I felt really good, but I was second best today. It came down to ten minutes after a whole week of racing, but I did everything I could. No regrets."
HERMANS SEVENTH AS PINARELLO Q36.5 ANIMATES THE VENETO CLASSIC
Almost 9,000 kilometres away, the team delivered another committed performance on Italian roads at the Veneto Classic, the final appointment of the 2026 Italian racing calendar.
The 158 km race from Cittadella to Bassano del Grappa featured repeated ascents of the demanding Tisa climb and a technical finale that encouraged aggressive racing.
Quinten Hermans and Spanish national champion Marcel Camprubí were among the protagonists, taking the initiative and helping shape the decisive phases of the race.
Hermans remained in contention for a strong result despite suffering a slow puncture to his front tyre after the gravel sector, eventually crossing the line in seventh place.
Quinten Hermans said:
"It was a very hard race right from the beginning. There was never really a breakaway, and on the first ascent of the Tisa climb, we attacked in a group of 21 riders. From that point onwards, it was full gas all the way to the finish.
I felt quite good, but after the gravel sector I picked up a slow puncture in my front tyre and ended up finishing with a flat. It probably cost me a few places in the end, but the feeling was good."
A FITTING END TO A LANDMARK SEASON
From the roads of Guangxi to the steep climbs of the Veneto, the final day of competition reflected the approach that Pinarello Q36.5 has carried throughout 2026: racing with ambition, supporting one another and remaining competitive until the finish.
After a season that saw the team compete across all three Grand Tours, including its historic Tour de France debut, Sunday's performances provided a fitting conclusion to a significant chapter in the team's development.
The final race numbers are now on the board. The focus turns to 2027, with the same ambition to keep progressing and competing at the highest level.
