Sebastian Berwick Ready For His Next Chapter With Pinarello Q36.5

Australian stage racer joins the Team following a breakthrough 2026 season

Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team is pleased to announce the signing of Australian climber Sebastian Berwick, who will join the Team from 1 January 2027 on a two-year contract.

The 26-year-old from Brisbane arrives following a season that has highlighted his progression and growing consistency as a stage racer. Victory in the general classification at the 2026 Presidential Cycling Tour of Türkiye stands as the highlight of a campaign that has also included sixth overall at the Tour of Oman, fifth at the Tour of Slovenia and his debut at the Tour de France.

Having stepped up to the highest level of professional cycling at just 21, Berwick believes the experience gained over recent seasons has helped him develop a clearer understanding of himself as a rider and what he needs to perform at his best.

"I feel like this year I’ve made a big step in consistency. The confidence has been building race by race, both in myself and in the people around me. Winning the Tour of Türkiye changed the way I looked at myself as a stage racer and showed me that I can be really competitive in one-week races."

Sebastian Berwick

Sebastian Berwick said: “I see myself first as a climber, but I enjoy having responsibility as a leader as much as I enjoy working for somebody else and helping the Team win. Joining Pinarello Q36.5 feels like the right next step for me. I want to win, but I also want to win with good people around me.”

Berwick is also motivated by the Team’s factory-team philosophy and the opportunity to work closely with its technical and performance partners.

“Equipment and nutrition are becoming more and more important and can make the difference between winning and losing. Being able to communicate directly with the people developing the products, give feedback and keep improving is a big opportunity.

“Cycling is becoming more and more like Formula 1 in that sense: you have to keep developing to stay at the front. Having that direct relationship with Pinarello, Q36.5, Amacx and all the partners is something I’m really looking forward to.”

"Sebastian adds another dimension to our roster. His performances this season show a rider who is becoming more consistent and confident, and winning the Tour of Türkiye demonstrated his ability to take responsibility and deliver across a stage race."

Douglas Ryder, Team Principal of Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team

Douglas Ryder, Team Principal of Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team, said: “We are building an increasingly international group with different strengths but a shared ambition. Sebastian fits that direction very well. He understands our factory-team approach, he can contribute in different roles and we believe there is still significant room for him to grow with us.”

Berwick’s arrival adds further climbing strength and stage-racing depth to Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team’s international roster for 2027.
