The Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team sprinter finished runner-up to defending champion Olav Kooij (Decathlon CMA CGM Team), with Arvid de Kleijn (Tudor Pro Cycling Team) completing the podium after 200.8 kilometres of fast, technical racing around Isbergues.

Returning to the roads where he claimed victory in 2023, Moschetti was well supported by his teammates as the race entered its decisive phase. The team moved together towards the front of the peloton inside the final 20 kilometres, keeping Moschetti in position through the technical closing circuits.

In the final kilometre, the Italian found the wheel of the Decathlon CMA CGM lead-out. When Kooij launched his sprint, Moschetti responded and fought all the way to the line, taking a strong second place behind the Dutchman.

The result continues an encouraging run of form for Moschetti, who also finished fifth at the GP de Fourmies last Sunday.

“It was a good day. It wasn’t an easy race because both the larger circuit and the final laps were quite technical and nervous. When we entered the closing circuits with around 20 kilometres to go, we worked really well as a team, staying together and keeping ourselves towards the front.

“In the finale I managed to get onto the Decathlon train and when Kooij launched his sprint, I tried to come past him. He was the strongest today, but second place is still a good result.

“I’ve been feeling good for the last few weeks, so I’m happy to turn those sensations into a result. Next Sunday should be Paris–Chauny, another race that suits me well, so that’s the next target.”

With his speed and consistency building towards the final part of the season, Moschetti will now turn his attention to Paris–Chauny on Sunday, 27 September, looking to carry that momentum into another opportunity for the fast men.
