Fred Wright Back in the Fight at Tro Bro Léon

A return to the sharp end of the race. A performance full of intent, aggression and confidence. At Tro Bro Léon, Fred Wright delivered one of his strongest rides of the season, finishing ninth after an aggressive day spent attacking across the race’s iconic gravel sectors.

Supported by a committed and proactive team performance with Brent Van Moer, who finished 11th, and Aimé De Gendt in 16th, the team animated the race from start to finish and consistently featured at the front during the decisive moments.

Wright, visibly back to his best sensations after a difficult run of setbacks and bad luck during the Spring Classics campaign, raced with the aggression and instinct that have become his trademark on demanding terrain.

"I’m really happy with the performance at Tro Bro Leon yesterday, even if there’s a little disappointment with the final result. In the end I was slightly outnumbered in the decisive group and that made things complicated, but overall it was a really positive step forward for me. It would have been nice to finish with a top five or even a podium, but more than anything I’m happy to be back racing at the front and feeling competitive again. Tro Bro Léon is such a special race and one I genuinely love. The way I was able to attack on the gravel sectors and really race aggressively again gives me a lot of confidence for the next block of races. The team was incredibly strong all day and we probably deserved even more from the result. Still, there are a lot of positives to take away and I feel there’s much more to come in the next weeks"

The performance marks another encouraging signal ahead of the next objectives for Fred Wright, who will return to racing later this week at Circuit de Wallonie on Thursday 14 May before lining up at Rund um Köln on Sunday 17 May.
