Fight and determination: Kamil Małecki claims podium at GP Monseré
Kamil Małecki delivered an outstanding performance at the GP Monseré, securing third place after an aggressive and intelligent race in one of Belgium’s most demanding one-day events.
A cornerstone of the Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team since 2023, the 30-year-old Polish rider, now in his fourth season with the team, once again proved his value as one of its most reliable and professional figures.
Raced at high intensity on challenging terrain, the GP Monseré unfolded under the typical conditions of Belgian classics: narrow roads, cobbled sectors, and relentless speed driven by teams preparing for a sprint finish. Despite the complexity of the race and the control exerted by the sprinters’ teams, Małecki read the race perfectly.
With just under 40 kilometers to go, he made the decisive move, joining the breakaway that ultimately shaped the outcome of the day. From there, he showed strength and determination, holding off the fast-approaching peloton in the final kilometers as the top sprinters launched their pursuit at full speed.
Even under extreme pressure, and despite suffering cramps in the closing stages, Małecki managed to contest the sprint from the breakaway, securing a hard-earned podium finish.
"I am super happy, it has been a long time since my last podium, so this result means a lot to me. I can be proud of myself, but also of the whole team. We raced really well today, and everyone did an amazing job. In the final kilometer I started to have cramps, but I kept fighting all the way to the line. This result gives me confidence, and I hope it’s just the beginning. I want to keep improving my shape and fight for more strong results. Overall, it’s been a beautiful day for all of us."
Kamil MaleckiMałecki’s performance confirms his consistency and commitment, while also marking an important milestone early in the season. His third place at GP Monseré provides strong momentum and confidence for the upcoming races on the Belgian calendar.
