
Fabio Christen Undergoes Surgery Following Giro d’Italia Crash
The Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team confirms that Fabio Christen was forced to abandon the Giro d’Italia following the crash sustained during Stage 8 of the race.
After the incident, the Swiss rider was transported directly to hospital by ambulance, where immediate medical examinations confirmed a fracture to his right collarbone. Fabio will undergo surgery in the coming days, with recovery time currently estimated at approximately six weeks, depending on the outcome of the procedure and the rehabilitation process.
Christen had shown encouraging condition and strong commitment throughout the opening phase of the race, making his withdrawal an unfortunate setback both for the rider and for the Team.
The entire Team will continue to support Fabio closely throughout his recovery, with the objective of ensuring a safe and complete return to competition.
