Fresh, motivated and ready to seize every opportunity: Fabio Christen is set to line up tomorrow for his first-ever Giro d'Italia, marking another important milestone in the young Swiss rider’s progression with Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team.
After returning to full health and building back towards top condition in recent weeks, Christen arrives at the Corsa Rosa with excitement, ambition and the freedom to race aggressively across the three weeks.
"My first Giro and second Grand Tour overall. It’s obviously something very special and the excitement is huge. I’m happy to be here and ready to take the race day by day, looking for opportunities that suit my characteristics."
True to the team’s Race Sharp philosophy, the Giro will offer multiple opportunities for Christen to target stages suited to his characteristics, especially explosive and selective finales.
"We don’t really have a clear GC leader, so there will be a lot of freedom to target stages that suit us and fight for results."

"For us the goal at the Giro is clearly to fight for a stage win. Every day is a chance. With Matteo we have a rider for the bunch sprints, I can target reduced sprints, and we also have strong climbers who can go for top ten results in the mountains."
