Dunbar drives Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team into the Stage 7 breakaway

Stage 7 race report: Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team raced with intent on Stage 7 of La Vuelta a España, sending Eddie Dunbar into the day’s breakaway on the 149.8 km route from Vall d’Alba to Aramón Valdelinares.

The 149.8 km stage from Vall d’Alba to Aramón Valdelinares offered another chance for ambitious racing, and Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team made sure to be present at the front.

Milan Vader was active early, joining an opening move that also included Wout van Aert and Andreas Leknessund before he was brought back. Eddie Dunbar then battled across to the front of the race, eventually spending large parts of the day ahead of the peloton with four riders. The move helped shape the stage and kept Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team prominent on Spanish roads as the bunch managed the gap behind. The five-rider breakaway continued to hold a strong advantage, and Eddie Dunbar ended in a solid 8th after being overtaken on the final climb. Andreas Leknessund from Uno-X Mobility attacked and crossed the finish line alone.

"It was a very long day. We worked really well together, and there were some big engines there, a lot bigger than me. We rode together and I’m actually happy that someone made it the whole way. I felt really good. I definitely thought there was a chance. There were four quality bike riders there. Maybe I just spent a little bit too much on the flat, but again, to stay away we had to ride with each other. We all committed, and it was a great day fighting for the stage."
