Chris Harper to miss Stage 11 following yesterday’s crash

Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team confirms that Chris Harper will not start today's Stage 11 of the Tour de France following the injuries sustained in yesterday's crash.

The Australian rider came down on the descent from Puy Mary, approximately 25 kilometres from the finish in Le Lioran, after crashing at the same section where teammate Tom Pidcock had fallen moments earlier. Harper was able to remount and complete the stage despite the incident.

Diagnosis:

Chris Harper suffered a serious injury to the thumb of his left hand. He underwent surgery yesterday evening and, unfortunately, due to the severity of the injury, he is unable to take the start of today's stage. He will now undergo further specialist assessment in Zurich.
