Pidcock victorious in Tour of the Alps
Pidcock Triumphs on Stage 3 of the Tour of the Alps in Remarkable Comeback Ride.
The Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team celebrated an emotional and significant victory today, as team leader Tom Pidcock powered to an outstanding win on Stage 3 of the Tour of the Alps.
Returning to racing just three weeks after a knee injury sustained in a crash during Stage 5 of the Volta a Catalunya, Pidcock’s condition coming into the race remained an unknown. However, the Briton has answered any doubts in emphatic fashion. After already showing his intent with a strong second place in the opening stage, today’s victory marks a powerful statement of resilience and class.
On a demanding and high-tempo stage, Pidcock executed a bold and committed race strategy, underlining both his racing instinct and determination to compete at the highest level despite limited preparation.
Speaking after the finish, Pidcock reflected candidly on both the physical and mental challenges of his return:
"I think that’s the mentality that we have, we commit 100%, even though I’m really not in the best shape. I gave everything. Maybe I went a bit too early in the final, I thought the finish was closer when the barriers started, and it was quite far. I was a bit worried, but I saw Egan was the first guy on the wheel, so I just kept going."
Tom PidcockAfter a hot and demanding stage, the significance of the victory was not lost on him:
"With my injury and the time off, it’s been difficult. Coming back is very hard mentally, even the first time I was dropped, it was tough to deal with. So yeah, this win feels really nice."
Tom PidcockToday’s performance highlights not only Pidcock’s natural talent, but also the strength of character required to return to winning form under such circumstances. For Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team, it represents a key milestone early in the season and reinforces the team’s identity: aggressive racing, full commitment, and resilience in the face of adversity.
