Donovan finishes third overall as Team delivers solid race at Sibiu Cycling Tour

The Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team concluded the Sibiu Cycling Tour with Mark Donovan securing third place in the final general classification after another consistent week of racing.

The British rider led a collective team performance that also saw Walter Calzoni finish seventh overall, while Eddie Dunbar completed an encouraging return to racing with 15th place in the GC after spending much of the week working for his teammates in the decisive moments of the race.

The final stage was raced at a high tempo from the outset, with repeated attacks from riders looking to improve their overall position. The team remained composed throughout, taking responsibility when needed to protect Donovan's podium place and Calzoni's top-ten position while continuing to race as a unit.

The team's positive final day was further underlined by Joey Pidcock, who produced a strong sprint to finish seventh on the stage. After remaining well positioned throughout the fast finale, the young Brit converted the team's work into another solid result, adding further depth to an encouraging collective performance.

"I'm super happy, to be honest. It's really nice to get back on the podium. I didn't have particularly high expectations after the Giro because it's always difficult to know how you'll respond after a Grand Tour. My legs felt good throughout the race and it was nice to race with confidence again. Now it's time to recover and enjoy the result."

Sports Director Daniele Nieri highlighted the team's approach over the four days of racing.

"Today was another demanding stage with a very high pace from the start and plenty of attacks from riders close on GC. We decided to take responsibility to protect both Mark's podium and Walter's position in the top ten. Mark rode a very solid race, but the whole team contributed throughout the week. Thomas Gloag did a lot of work, Eddie Dunbar gave great support on his return to racing, and everyone committed fully to the team's objectives. That's the attitude we want to bring to every race we enter."

The result reflects another consistent performance from the team, with two riders inside the overall top ten and a strong collective display throughout the week. Regardless of the race on the calendar, the objective remains the same: to compete with commitment, support one another and make the most of every opportunity.
