Pidcock Ignites Murcia Debut

The Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team lines up at the Vuelta a Murcia with a clear mandate: race with intent, cohesion and identity from the very first kilometre of the 2026 road season.

All focus turns to team captain Tom Pidcock, who makes his road season debut in Spain. After a deliberate and demanding winter block, Murcia marks his first race number of the year — a key moment that sets the tone for what promises to be an intense and attacking campaign. His presence adds leadership, explosiveness and ambition to a squad ready to animate the race.

The Belgian trio of Quinten Hermans, Brent Van Moer and Xandro Meurisse, the latter overall winner here in 2020, make their first road appearance in Pinarello Q36.5 colours. Power, tactical awareness and depth reinforce the team’s structure around its leader, ensuring multiple cards to play across both stages.

Completing the seven-rider line-up are Sjoerd Bax, Mark Donovan and Emils Liepins, experienced professionals tasked with managing positioning, controlling key phases and executing the team’s strategic objectives in decisive moments.

Contested over two demanding days, the Vuelta a Murcia traditionally rewards initiative. The Alto Virgen del Castillo at 3.5 km to go on day one is set to shape the race early, while the rolling second stage invites aggressive racing and responsibility on the front foot.

Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team arrives in Murcia ready to set the rhythm, with Pidcock’s debut providing the spark.
