Emmanuel Houcou Makes His Debut at the Tour of Oman
The opening stage of the Tour of Oman marked a special moment for the team, as Emmanuel Houcou made his racing debut in our colours. It was not only his first race with the squad, but also his first sprint opportunity, an important milestone for the new rider as he begins this new chapter.
On a fast stage that concluded with a bunch sprint, the team rode with cohesion and commitment, guiding Emmanuel into position for the decisive finale. The lead-out reflected the trust and collective effort within the group, giving him the opportunity to contest the sprint in his very first appearance.
After the finish, Emmanuel shared his impressions:
"My first race with the team and my first sprint opportunity, a special feeling. The guys were incredible all day, riding fully committed and setting everything up perfectly. David Gonzalez and Marcel Camprubi delivered a great lead-out in the final, putting me exactly where I needed to be at the right time. Unfortunately, a small issue with my derailleur cost me a top 5, but that’s part of racing. The most important thing is the feeling, and today the sensations were good. It was a relatively calm stage, so it’s hard to fully judge the shape, but I’m confident. More opportunities will come, and we’ll keep pushing."
