Belgian all-rounder Xandro Meurisse joins Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team after making his mark with Alpecin–Deceuninck. Xandro will be a key asset in the team’s stage races and classics campaigns, bringing experience, consistency, and a strong tactical sense to every race.
Driven by Passion, Shaped by Flanders
Xandro Meurisse’s love for cycling started early, fuelled by his passion for cyclo-cross. “I wanted to do it since I was 11 or 12,” he recalls. One day, his father finally said, “It’s okay, you can try it.” Quincy Vens, a talented MTB and cyclo-cross rider, was the first to guide him into the sport and show him the ropes.
Otegem in West Flanders is home during the season, where the rolling hills of the Flemish Ardennes provide the perfect terrain for training, often cold, sometimes wet, but always challenging.
Classics and the Tour are what excite Xandro the most, pushing him to perform at his best while supporting his teammates. His goals for the season include being a strong asset and achieving notable results for himself, with the aim of racing in the Tour with the team.
One of his most cherished memories? Competing at the World Championships in Kigali, a moment that still inspires him today.
