Rolling Hills, Big Dreams

Sam Bennett’s journey into cycling began simply, through the pure joy of riding a bike. As a child, he loved playing on his bike, and that natural enthusiasm soon found direction when he joined an underage mountain bike league at the age of nine. From those early races, cycling quickly became more than a hobby, setting him on a path that would lead to the very top of the sport.

During the season, Sam is based in Cork, Ireland. The rolling hills around home provide the ideal terrain to sharpen both endurance and speed, while the local conditions demand resilience. Training in Ireland often means wet roads, high humidity, and constantly changing weather, environments that quietly build toughness and consistency.

Sam is especially drawn to the early part of the season. It’s a time that reveals who has truly put in the work over the winter, and where the first real signals of form begin to show. For him, it’s about laying the foundations and setting the tone for the months ahead.

Looking forward, his ambition is clear and deeply personal: to return to his very best level and perform where it matters most. Among all his achievements, one moment stands above the rest, a defining image in modern sprinting history.

"Winning on the Champs-Élysées in the green jersey is my best cycling memory. It’s a moment that stays with you forever."
