Made in Switzerland
For Matteo Badilatti, cycling has always been about passion. Watching races, feeling the emotion of the peloton and the mountains, he was naturally drawn intothe sport, driven by a deep fascination for what cycling represents: effort, resilience, and connection to the road.
Home, during the season, is Poschiavo, in the heart of Graubünden, Switzerland. Surrounded by the Alps, it’s a place where the terrain defines the rider. Steep climbs, long ascents and high mountain passes shape Matteo’s daily training environment. Conditions change constantly, from cold and unpredictable alpine weather to perfect summer days, but that’s exactly what prepares him for the hardest races.
Unsurprisingly, Matteo feels most alive during the Giro d’Italia and the Tour de Suisse. Racing on familiar roads, in landscapes he knows by heart, gives an extra layer of motivation. These are the moments where preparation meets emotion.
Looking ahead, his focus is clear: to be present and impactful in the mountain stages, where endurance, patience and strength make the difference.
But beyond results, Matteo’s most powerful cycling memory isn’t tied to a finish line or a podium. It’s a moment of human connection, seeing the joy and curiosity in the eyes of a young fan after a race, a reminder of why cycling matters.
"The happiest moment for me was seeing the smile of a young fan on the road after the finish. That’s when you realize how much this sport can inspire."
