Mark Donovan’s path into professional cycling began close to home. Introduced to the sport by his parents, cycling quickly became more than just a pastime, evolving into a lifelong pursuit built on passion, discipline, and ambition. 

During the season, Mark splits his time between Andorra and Girona, two locations perfectly suited to his style of riding. Long, demanding climbs define his training terrain, offering the ideal environment to build strength and endurance. Conditions vary widely throughout the year, from cold and dry winter days to intense summer heat, shaping a rider well accustomed to pushing through extremes. 

The heart of Mark’s season beats strongest in the Ardennes. Liège–Bastogne–Liège has been his favourite race since turning professional, a parcours that rewards resilience, timing, and grit, qualities that align naturally with his racing DNA. 

Looking ahead, his ambition is clear and simple: to turn hard work into victory and raise his arms on the finish line. That drive is fuelled by moments that have already defined his career, none more powerful than rolling onto the Champs-Élysées for the first time at the Tour de France in 2021.
