Kamil Małecki our Polish puncheur sets his sets on the upcoming spring classics campaign after strong performances in the past. Read more to learn about how Kamil came to the sport and training at home in Poland helps him prepare for the season ahead.
From after school club to Monuments
Kamil Małecki’s journey into cycling began thanks to his mother. During a school holiday, unsure of how to fill his time, she brought him to a local sports club and signed him up for his first team. What started as means to stay active quickly turned into a passion, as Kamil discovered the thrill of structured training and racing.
Based in northern Poland during the season, Kamil remains closely connected to his home region, which he considers an ideal place to train. The terrain there is constantly rolling, with short climbs of 300 to 500 meters that keep the riding dynamic and demanding, perfectly suited to developing strength and rhythm.
Training conditions vary greatly throughout the year. Winters are cold and often snowy, requiring resilience and discipline, while summer brings much more pleasant weather and ideal training conditions.
The part of the season that excites Kamil the most is the Spring Classics. The intensity, terrain, and tactical nature of these races align perfectly with his strengths and ambitions.
Looking ahead, his goal is clear: to be in peak shape for the Spring Classics and deliver strong performances during this key period of the season.
One memory already stands out as a career highlight.
"My best cycling memory is finishing 14th at the Ronde van Vlaanderen in 2024."
