Former British national champion joins Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team after starting his career with Bahrain-Victorious. Fred will lead the team's cobbled classics roster and looks to build on his top 10 result at Paris-Roubaix last season.
From Herne Hill to Roubaix
Fred Wright’s passion for cycling started close to home. Growing up in London, it was his father who first introduced him to the sport, taking him to Herne Hill Velodrome just down the road. At just eight years old, Fred discovered the thrill of riding laps on the track, a moment that would quietly set the course for his future in the professional peloton.
During the season, Fred is based in Ordino, Andorra. Surrounded by mountains, it’s an ideal environment for building strength and resilience. Winters can be cold, but compared to the UK, the conditions are often drier, while summer training offers long climbs and consistent altitude work that perfectly suit his racing ambitions.
The Spring Classics are where Fred truly feels at home. These races have always held a special place in his heart, combining intensity, tradition, and pure racing instinct. Looking ahead, his goals are clear: step up another level in the Classics and fight for victories, with the ultimate satisfaction of crossing the line first.
One memory stands above all others and connects past dreams with present reality.
"Starting my first Tour de France is my best cycling memory. Watching the Tour as a kid was one of the reasons I got into cycling in the first place, so being on the start line myself was incredibly special."
With his racing grit, growing experience, and love for the sport’s biggest stages, Fred Wright continues to build his story one decisive move at a time.
