A modern sprinter with puncheur abilities, Emmanuel Houcou has shown his potential with wins and podiums across U23 races. Having just joined Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team, he looks forward to supporting teammates like Matteo Moschetti while chasing his own ambitions.
From Martinique to the Peloton
Emmanuel Houcou’s journey in cycling began at a very young age. “I was four or five years old when I started on a mountain bike,” he recalls. By the age of ten, he was already racing on the road, inspired by a family deeply rooted in the sport, his father, uncle, and grandfather all rode competitively. Growing up in Martinique, where cycling is a central part of the sporting culture and the Tour de Martinique is a major event, Houcou naturally followed in their footsteps.
"I will be the only professional cyclist from the island next year and am really proud of that. I hope my step to the pros and the races I will get to ride will inspire young riders on Martinique to also dream big."
Modern Sprinter, Big Dreams
A modern sprinter with puncheur abilities, Houcou admires Peter Sagan and excels in races with climbs and classics-style finishes. In 2025, he won the opening stage of the Orlens Nations GP, finished second at GP Plouay U23, and achieved top-ten results at Paris-Troyes, Tour de Bretagne, and Paris-Roubaix.
While supporting teammates like Matteo Moschetti, Houcou remains determined to pursue his own ambitions. Looking ahead, he sets his sights high: “My biggest dream is to be World Champion and win Milan-Sanremo. It’s becoming more difficult for sprinters every year, but the dream is there, so why not?”
