Eddie Dunbar’s journey into cycling began in front of the television. What started as curiosity soon became passion, and Dunbar quickly found himself drawn to the challenges of the sport. 

During the season, Monaco serves as his home base, a location perfectly suited for a climber. “It’s very mountainous! Not too much flat around, so you get used to going uphill,” he explains. Training conditions are ideal almost year-round, though summer can bring intense heat, a perfect setting to build endurance and strength. 

The part of the season that excites Dunbar most is clear: the Grand Tours and the Italian one-day races at the end of the calendar. The intensity, strategy, and stakes of these events perfectly match his racing style and ambition. 

Looking ahead, his goals are focused and pragmatic. “Be consistent and try and do well in the Giro, see how that goes and then decide the rest,” he says, reflecting his measured approach to performance and development. 

Among his career highlights, one memory stands above the rest: victory on the summit of Picón Blanco in the Vuelta a España, his second stage victory that year and a moment that confirmed his abilities in the mountains and cemented his reputation as a rider to watch in the toughest climbs.
