Damien Howson brings experience, reliability, and a proven ability to perform on the biggest stages. In 2026, he aims to seize his own opportunities while supporting the team’s leaders.
From Adelaide to the Tour
Damien Howson’s journey into professional cycling began through the South Australian Sports Institute, where his talent was identified and shaped within a structured high-performance environment. That pathway laid the foundations for a career built on consistency, resilience, and a deep understanding of what it takes to perform at the highest level.
During the season, Damien calls Andorra home. Its mountainous terrain provides the perfect setting for building endurance and climbing strength, with long ascents that mirror the demands of the biggest races on the calendar. Training conditions there are highly varied, shifting from cold to warm and everything in between, a rhythm that suits his adaptable approach to preparation.
The part of the season that excites Damien the most is summer racing, with the Tour de France standing above all else.
"It’s been a few years since I last raced the biggest race in the world. And summer is a great time of year to really focus on a main goal"
Rising to Every Challenge
The return to the Tour represents both motivation and unfinished business.
Looking ahead, Damien’s goals are clear but balanced. He aims to continue seizing his own opportunities as they arise, while also playing a key role alongside the team’s leaders to achieve the best possible collective results.
Among his many career highlights, one memory stands out: being part of four Grand Tour podium teams, including one overall victory. It’s a testament to his experience, reliability, and ability to deliver when it matters most, qualities he brings to every race he lines up for.
